Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s is official and now the attention has moved towards its other device which has been into rumors for a very long time. It’s none other than the Mi 7 and a new leak is surfaced for the same according to which the smartphone will bear the notch that is slowly becoming a trend in the Android market.
A new render has been caught in the wild that shows a small notch on the display. This seems to be an entirely new design Xiaomi is adopting, considering the company has been following a different approach towards the bezel-less displays. The Mi Mix 2s is the latest smartphone to exemplify here that features an edge-to-edge display in a different way compared to Android phones from other brands.
Now, the assumed render of Xiaomi Mi 7 is showing us the display notch, this is contrary to what we reported back in February from the alleged hands-on images of the Mi 7. The pictures caught before weren’t showing any notch, though it was completely bezel-less from below. This led us to the fact that the Xiaomi Mi 7 may come with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
And, now, the new leak is corroborating the report we had earlier, at least for the in-display fingerprint sensor. The device is also expected to bear the Face Unlock as an added security feature. The back of this Mi 7 render shows dual cameras placed vertically just like available on the Mi Mix 2s. The back of the device is metal and not glass. Xiaomi switched to glass starting with the Mi 5 and we didn’t see the metal used on Mi 6 as well. But, the Mi 7 seems to be an exception as it may feature a metal back. So, the Mi 7 may not feature the wireless charging as the Mi Mix 2s because to support this feature, the device should either feature a glass or a ceramic back.
The Geekbench listing has revealed that the device will be powered by Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 6GB RAM. It will run Android 8.0 Oreo.
We still don’t have the launch details of the Mi 7, so till we get the details you can enjoy the leaks and rumors.
