Telegram gets sent media replacement, 2x voice message playback, and more

28 June 2018 4

Telegram is undoubtedly one of the most feature-rich instant messengers out there. It is packed with so many features that if you will start using it, you will barely feel the need to use some other app. And now, it is time for a new update which brings even more features to improve the overall user experience.

To start off, the new Telegram update makes it possible for users to replace sent media files. It means if you have sent a wrong image to someone, you can choose to replace it with the correct one. The process is same as editing a sent message but instead of writing the correct text, you will get an option to choose the correct image. This is definitely a handy addition as it is quite common to end up with sending a wrong image instead of the one you actually wanted to send.

Next up, the app will allow users to double up the playback speed of voice or video messages. This will help in saving time as one would not have to sit and keep listening to a long message. They can quickly check what it is about and change the playback speed to normal when there is something useful information being shared on the message.

Other features include the ability to mark messages as read/unread and share detailed vCard information. The latter will make it possible for users to select what information they want to share about a contact. It can include multiple numbers, address, date of birth, Telegram username, and more. It goes without saying that one should have all these details stored on his phone before sharing with the other person.

For those of you who use Telegram on Android, there are three more features. These include the option to create links in texts, preview chats by tapping and holding on the profile picture, and ability to cancel sending texts before they are sent.
