Xiaomi starts preparing for Mi MIX 2S Android P upgrade

06 August 2018 2

When Google announced the expansion of the Android beta program to non-Pixel/Nexus devices, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S was one of the eligible devices for the same. It has been offering the Android P beta versions since then now, Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the team has started preparing for the Mi MIX 2S Android P upgrade.

The announcement was made by Xiaomi on the official forum where it did not mention any specific timeline. But it is now official that the Mi MIX 2S will be the first Xiaomi smartphone to receive Android P. Since the device is already part of the Android beta program, it should not take much time for the team to release the stable version once Google releases the same.

Google has plans of unveiling the Android P stable version sometime during Q3 2018 which is also the time when we will get to know the official name for the version. In a recent leak, the Android P release date is said to be August 20th which is one day earlier than the release date of Android Oreo last year.

Like it usually happens, the name of the upcoming Android version is still a mystery. Google will be revealing the same on the same day when it will be releasing the stable version. Considering the leak and track record, we can expect it to become official any day during this month.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
