It has been a couple of days since Google announced that Android P is actually Android 9 Pie and is now ready for the prime time. It means it is time when we start looking which OEMs are doing what regarding the release of the latest Android version. While Pixel and Essential Phone users have already started to receive it, Xiaomi is working on beta testing it for the Mi MIX 2S. And now, Sony has revealed some details regarding its plans for the same.

As per a Gizchina report, Sony will be kicking off Android 9 Pie upgrade schedule with six of its devices from September. These selected models include Xperia XZ2, Xperia XZ2 Compact, Xperia XZ2 Premium, Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ1 Compact, and Xperia XZ Premium. There is no mention of which smartphone will be getting it earlier and which ones later but all of them are expected to get upgraded by the end of November 2018.

It is worth noting that the report does not mention whether this timeline is for the beta version of Android Pie or the stable version. Either way, if the report turns out to be correct, it is indeed a good news for the Sony Xperia users around the world.
