Xiaomi has launched a special edition variant of the Mi MIX 2S which is available in Emerald Green color. This new edition has been developed in collaboration with the Dunhuang Research Institute as it is inspired by Dunhuang murals' natural gemstone color. It took about a year for the company to finalize everything and release the product with ceramic body and the new color.
Other than the new color, the only thing new about the device is its retail packaging which is in line with the variant's color scheme. It is also helpful in differentiating between the standard and this special edition phone even from a distance. Besides these two things, there are no changes. You will get exactly the same specifications and features as the standard offering. There are no words on the global availability but it will go on sale in China starting August 14th.
To give you an overview, the Mi MIX 2S sports a 5.99-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display. It has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage. There is 12-megapixel dual camera setup where one is a telephoto lens and another is a wide-angle lens. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel camera to help you click decent selfies. The whole package is powered by a 3400mAh battery and runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time Xiaomi has launched a special version Mi MIX 2S. It previously unveiled the Art Edition variant for which it partnered with The British Museum. But just like the newer version, it was also launched only in China.

As a designer, I can imagine what things go behind developing a final product. Surely, a year's time is easily what can require for dishing out a quality product.
And the new color variant also needed a new packing to go with its taste. So, that designing also includes the retail box packaging too.
Having a design box that goes with the inside product is a must. It indicates what the box is carrying inside it.
Yup. Helpful to know that it carries the Emerald Green color variant inside :D
What I liked about Xiaomi is that they changed only the looks of the
phone, in terms of color and packing. Not the specs and features.
