Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite now receiving Android 9 Pie stable update

Xiaomi has started to roll out Mi A2 Lite Android Pie stable update. It started a beta testing program for the device about a couple of weeks ago which means it has been a quite quick rollout. It has released the update within a week of updating the Mi A2 to the latest Android version.

The Mi A2 Lite Android Pie update is about 1GB in size (1002.8 MB) which means it is advised to connect to WiFi for downloading the same. As per the changelog, the key features included in the update are FM Radio support, Adaptive battery and brightness, Android Pie navigations, smarter recommendations of apps/actions based on the context. It also brings the latest Android security patch dated November 5, 2018, to the phone.


This changelog suggests that Xiaomi has implemented all the major Android Pie features released by Google. If you own the device, you should see an update notification anytime soon. If you have not so far, you can either choose to wait or simply go to system settings and check for the same manually.

To give you an overview, Mi A2 Lite has a 5.84-inches Full HD+ IPS display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with 3GB /4GBof RAM and storage up to 64GB. The primary rear snapper is 12-megapixel whereas the secondary sensor is 5-megapixel. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. The whole package is powered by a 4000mAh battery.
