JioMusic is now JioSaavn; free 90 days of Saavn Pro for Jio users

03 December 2018 6

It seems like the much-talked-about merger been Reliance Jio and Saavn has been completed as the rebranded JioSaavn app is now available for download for both Android and iOS devices. Jio has originally announced its plans about acquiring Saavn in March and after nearly nine months, the deal seems to have officially been closed.

The rebranded JioSaavn music streaming app can be downloaded via the App Store for iOS devices and via the Google Play Store for Android devices. If you have used the Saavn app in recent times, you will find an exactly similar user experience with the JioSaavn app. Right from sign-up screen to the app interface, options, settings to the whole UI, it is all exactly same as Saavn.

As part of the rebranding, all Jio users will get free access to the Saavn Pro subscription for a period of 90 days. To avail this trial offer, you will need to be on the Jio 4G network while registering for the app. Even if you end up creating a new account via some other network, re-launch the app while being on the Jio 4G and your trial version should get activated. As for paid plans, they are same as the Saavn Pro which is not a surprise.

It is worth noting that for some unknown reasons, JioMusic app has been rebranded to JioSaavn on Android platform but it is the Saavn app which has been rebranded to JioSaavn on the iOS platform. It is hard to figure out the reasoning behind such an inconsistency but we will update you if any of the two brands share any details.
