When OnePlus executives graced the stage of Qualcomm's Snapdragon Tech Summit in Hawaii, they talked about expected things but made one interesting claim. It was that they will be the first OEM to release a Snapdragon 855 smartphone which was something shared by official OnePlus social media handles as well. But as it turns, all of that was a big blunder and OnePlus will actually just be one of the first to release a phone with Snapdragon 855 chipset.
As reported by Engadget, one of the OnePlus spokespersons said the whole confusion happened because of a miscommunication. He said that the slide during OnePlus CEO Pete Lau's presentation was written by someone who was not a native English speaker. The mistake happened during the translation where the person translated "among the first" to simply "first".
On another hand, Qualcomm said that it was not their job to make it clear which partner is going to do first. In their own words, “it’s on not us to claim which partner is going to be first to do anything.”
Even though the "miscommunication": has now been clarified, it is definitely a huge blunder and is something OnePlus might be feeling embarrassed about. But the clarification means it is hard to say which OEM will be the first to release a Snapdragon 855-powered smartphone.

"among the first" and "first" makes way difference. Only something like an auto translator can do that blunder.
Hmm... Whatever be the reason, the head, who should look into these things as per the company's responsibilities should have looked into that.
So, who would be it the first to don the SD855?
