While the majority of the recent news related to Qualcomm have been about the Snapdragon 855 processor and 5G connectivity, it is now time for some news related to other products as well. A new mid-range processor Snapdragon 6150 has been spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking website.
This newly spotted chipset is an octa-core processor meant for mid-range smartphones. The listing shows that the device used for testing Snapdragon 6150 was sporting a display panel with Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 6GB of RAM. It is further listed with 1.8GHz clock speed which seems to be related to lighter efficiency cores.
The processor managed to get score 2598 in Single-core tests and 5467 on Multi-core tests. These scores make it comparable to the Snapdragon 710 processor. As per the naming scheme that Qualcomm usually follows, the Snapdragon 6150 should be named something related to the Snapdragon 650 series.
This is pretty much what is known about this new mid-range processor. We will share more as further details will become available.
