Vivo NEX now available for Rs. 39,990 in India

02 January 2019 3

The Vivo NEX smartphone has received its first official price cut in India. It has seen its price go down by a significant Rs. 5,000 which makes it available for Rs. 39,990. The new price is applicable for both online and offline sales with Amazon India already listing it for the discounted pricing.

The exact reason behind the price reduction is unknown but it seems like Vivo might be gearing up for the Vivo NEX Dual Display launch in India. This new phone is an improved variant of the original one and comes with a secondary display and no pop-up camera. Other than this, most of the specifications remain the same.

The original Vivo NEX was officially introduced in China earlier this year followed by a global release in other markets. It sports a 6.59-inch Full HD+ (2316 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 8GB of RAM. There is 128GB of internal storage with support for microSD cards.

In the camera department, it has a 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel dual rear camera setup with f/1.8 and f/2.4 aperture respectively. The selfie camera on the flagship is an 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture. It is a pop-up selfie camera which means it comes out of the chassis only when being used. When not in use, it slides back into the chassis and becomes invisible.

The whole package is powered by a 4000mAh battery and it runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. There are no official words but it should receive an upgrade to Android Pie sometime down the line.
