03 January 2019 2

It is confirmed that Honor will be launching a new smartphone named Honor 8A on January 8th. The launch date is five days away from today and the event will be held in China. The company shared a teaser poster on its official Weibo account to reveal the date as well as tease about the upcoming smartphone.

The poster shared by Honor does tease a few of the highlighting Honor 8A features. It specifically mentions that there will be 64GB of onboard storage for users to store their favorite apps/games and important data. It also shows that there will be an octa-core processor powering the device but does mention which one. It further shows a waterdrop-styled notch and a speaker which suggests focus on the audio output.

The Honor 8A seems to be the same smartphone which was spotted on TENAA last month. It was listed with model numbers JAT-AL00 and JAT-TL00 along with other important specification details. The listing revealed a 6.08-inch HD+ display which means there is likely to be a notch. It showed an undisclosed octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz. The listing showed 3GB of RAM along with 32GB and 64GB internal storage options. The whole package is powered by a 2920mAh battery and run Android 9 Pie.
