It is time for the first Honor 8A render leak which is coming from an online publication Droid Shout. The report is claiming it to be the official press render and it also looks like the real deal. The leak shows the upcoming smartphone in Blue and Black color variants which will be available for purchase after the launch.
On the front panel, the Honor 8A features a waterdrop-styled notch which we have started to see in more and more phones. It helps OEMs deliver a higher viewing area without having to ruin the viewing experience. It is also likely to have 18:9 aspect ratio which has now become mainstream. There is a single rear shooter on the back panel with Honor branding. It is reported that it will not be having a metallic back but there could be clear plastic or full glass. It also seems like there will not be a fingerprint scanner which is surprising considering that the Honor 7A comes with one.
If we talk about rumored specifications, the Honor 8A is said to sport a 6.08-inch HD+ (1560 x 720 pixels) notched display. Under the hood, it will be featuring the MediaTek MT6765 aka Helio P35 processor. There will be 3GB of RAM but two storage options: 32GB and 64GB. It will also support microSD cards up to 256GB for extra storage.
In the camera department, it will have a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and phase detection autofocus. On the front, it will have an 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The whole package is powered by a 3020mAh battery and will be running EMUI 9.0 based on Android 9 Pie out of the box.
Honor has already confirmed that it will be unveiling the Honor 8A on January 8th. It will be launched in China followed by expansion to other markets.
