Official PUBG Mobile India tournament with Rs. 1 crore prize pool announced

11 January 2019 2

Tencent and PUBG Corp. have collaborated with Oppo to announce an official PUBG Mobile tournament in India. It is officially known as PUBG Mobile India Series 2019. The trio held a tournament last year as well but it was restricted to college students which makes it the first such official tournament for all Indian PUBG players. The best part is that it has a prize pool of Rs. 1 crore with a grand prize of Rs. 30 lakh.

The organizers have already started tournament registrations which will go on until January 23rd. It is a squad-only tournament which means unless you have a squad of four players, you will not be eligible. Also, all those four players should be Indian resident. Once the registration is done, it will be time for in-game qualifier stage (January 21st to 27th). Each of the teams will be required to play 15 matches in Erangel and among these, their best 10 performances will be considered. They will be evaluated on the basis of the number of kills and position in the match but if there is a tie, other criteria like survival time and accuracy will be considered.

These qualifiers will be used to select the best 2,000 teams which will get to participate in online qualifiers (February 10th to 24th). From here, top 20 teams will get to play in the grand finale. The finals will be held in the month of March but no exact date has been specified yet.

As far as prizes are concerned, the grand winner will get to take a cool Rs. 30 lakh home. The first and second runner-up will win Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 5 lakh respectively. It will be followed by Rs. 2 lakh for the fourth place, Rs. 1.5 lakh for the fifth place, Rs. 1 lakh for the sixth place, Rs. 80 thousand for the seventh place, Rs. 70 thousand for the eighth place, and Rs. 50 thousand for the last two position holders. There are many more prizes to be won which will complete the Rs. 1 crore prize pool. You can check all the details and also register for the tournament by using the link given below.
