OnePlus 5 and 5T receiving OxygenOS Open Beta 26 and 24 updates

30 January 2019 1

OnePlus has announced that it is time for a new OxygenOS update for OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T users. It is an Open Beta release which means you will need to be an open beta tester to receive the same. To be specific, it is OxygenOS Open Beta 26 for OnePlus 5 and OxygenOS Open Beta 24 for OnePlus 5T.

The official changelog is exactly the same for both the flagships. The biggest change included in the update is quick replies support for landscape mode. It should help users reply to texts directly from the notification panel even while watching a video and without exiting them. The update further includes game mode enhancements and screenshot function optimizations.

It is an over-the-air (OTA) update which should arrive on your OnePlus 5/5T device anytime soon. There should be an update alert notification as and when the update becomes available. If you are an open beta tester, you can also check for the update manually by visiting phone's settings.

The OnePlus 5 was released in the first half of 2017 with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Since then, it has received upgrades to Android Oreo and most recently Android Pie. This suggests that chances of it receiving Android Q in the future are quite slim but it should keep receiving regular OxygenOS updates for at least one more year.
