Poco F1 DxOMark camera rated 91; higher than original Pixel

01 February 2019 2

It has been about five months since Xiaomi released Poco F1 smartphone. It is a flagship phone priced affordably which brings Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and a bunch of interesting features. And now, DxOMark has released Poco F1 camera results sharing its opinion on the device's camera performance.

The Poco F1 features 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel dual rear cameras with f/1.9 and f/2.0 aperture respectively. There is also support for phase detection autofocus, dual-LED flash, and up to 2K video recording. On the front, it has a 20-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1080p video recording support.

As per the DxOMark test, the Poco F1 managed to score 92 and 90 points in photo and video categories respectively. It scored highly in aspects like exposure, color, and autofocus for both photos and videos. The team was not satisfied with the HDR performance of the phone's camera which is said to be not as strong as many of the other best-performing devices. The camera performance is said to drop down during low-light situations with a significant loss of details. But the use of flash-light is likely to help a little bit in those situations.

Overall, Poco F1's camera performance is referred to as quite respectable considering the asking price and other things that it brings to the table. It should get the job done for those who don't have photography as their top priority. It is worth mentioning that the original Google Pixel scored 89 in DxOMark test which about two years ago.

The Poco F1 isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
