Xiaomi seeking Redmi Note 5 Pro, Note 6 Pro Android Pie global beta testers

22 February 2019 2

Xiaomi has started working on updating Redmi Note 5 Pro and Redmi Note 6 Pro to the latest Android Pie. It is seeking beta testers for the global MIUI ROM which will bring the newer Android version. The announcement is in line with the previously proposed update timeline where the update was expected to arrive within the first half of 2019.

As per the announcement, users from any region around the globe can submit their application to be a part of the beta testing group. This is simply because it is for the global beta ROM and will be in the English language by default. All you need to have is a Redmi Note 5 Pro or Redmi Note 6 Pro running the latest MIUI global ROM version. The device should also have an unlocked bootloader which is a must-have step for proceeding with the beta ROM installation.

One important thing to keep in mind is that it is a beta version of the ROM. It means it is likely to be unstable and suffer from bugs and performance issues like random app crashes. This is the reason you should be proceeding with the installation of the beta ROM only if you are comfortable with encountering all these situations and being patient enough until the developer team fixes them for the stable release.

If you are still interested, click the source link below to check all the details. You will also find step-by-step instructions regarding how to proceed with the downloading and installation of the ROM.
