The Honor View 20 is currently one of the best flagship-level smartphones that one can buy without having to break a bank. It has received a lot of positive feedback with many putting it as a direct competitor to the OnePlus 6T. But in order to make the device more appealing and powerful, Huawei has announced a new update called Gaming+ for the View 20.
This new Gaming+ update was announced at MWC 2019 in Barcelona and as the name suggests, it is completely aimed at boosting the View 20's gaming performance. Honor claimed that the update will increase the engine efficiency of Kirin 980 chipset by 20%. It will be making use of artificial intelligence (AI) to predict the best CPU and GPU clock speed needed for rendering the next frame in a game. It says that this will allow the device to keep offering smooth gameplay without having to make the CPU and GPU clock at maximum speed all the time.
It says that thanks to this update, Fortnite Vulcan will be compatible with Honor View 20 and will run at 60fps. In order to celebrate this particular achievement, Honor is offering a free and exclusive Honor Guard Fortnite skin to all View 20 users which can be redeemed by visiting the company's official website. Additionally, gamers will be getting smoother gameplay with titles like Arena of Valor and QQ Speed.
George Zhao, CEO of Honor said,
"With the revolutionary Gaming+ technology, we have further enhanced the smartphone’s graphics performance, satisfying young consumers’ increasing demands for a better mobile gaming experience. Together with the futuristic TOF 3D camera applications and the new Fortnite HONOR Guard outfit, HONOR is bringing consumers the most diverse and exceptional experiences."
At the same event, Honor revealed that View 20 has already sold over 1.5 million units globally. This is undoubtedly an impressive feat as its global launch happened towards January-end. With the newly announced update, it would surely hope to see an increase in the number, especially from mobile gamers.
