Paytm has officially announced the launch of dedicated Paytm Payments Bank (PPB) app for smartphones. The app has been announced for both Android and iOS devices but is yet to become available on the respective app stores. The main goal of the app is to specifically cater to Paytm Payments Bank customers.
The app will allow these users to have full access regarding their Payments Bank accounts. It means they will be able to check their account balance, digital passbook entries, digital debit card, and even raise a request for a physical debit card. One thing that Paytm is particularly touting is 24/7 customer support directly from the app. It means if any user has kind of issue or doubts, they should be able to get them resolved at any time of the day from within the app.
Prior to the announcement, users had to install the main Paytm app for accessing their account details and perform any account related task. While it used to work, it was a cluttery way of doing things as the main app is already filled with tons of other things. But with the release of the dedicated app, users will get completely smooth and clutter-free user experience.
Satish Kumar Gupta, MD and CEO of Paytm Payments Bank said,
"The new app has been introduced exclusively for its bank's customers to provide [a] wide range of banking services in a phased manner. The purpose of [the] new app is to segregate its operations from the existing app which caters to customers of several group entities. However, PPB customers will continue to serve its customers on its older app should its customers desire so. Both apps will co-exist."
In other words, PPB customers will have the freedom whether they want to keep using their account via the main Paytm app or go for the dedicated application. We will add links to download the app on Android and iOS devices once the listing will go live on respective stores.
