Oppo Reno 10X Zoom and 5G launch scheduled for April 24th

Oppo has started to send out media invites for an event scheduled to be held on April 24th in Zurich, Switzerland. The invite makes it clear that it will be a Reno smartphone launch. It features caption that "I'm Reno. Beyond Obvious" which further suggest that we will be seeing the unveiling of Reno 10X Zoom variant with 5G network support.

Oppo Reno lineup of phones has been leaking like anything for the past couple of months. There are expected to different models with different features in the lineup. It is expected to announce the standard Reno variant with 4G LTE connectivity in China on April 10th. If this happens, the Zurich event could also mean Reno smartphones' global launch.


The Oppo Reno 10X Zoom is likely to be the most premium smartphone in the series. It will be featuring Oppo's 10X optical zoom technology along with 5G connectivity. A recent leak showed an alleged Reno phone with 10x zoom in action. It is also said to feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor which is a flagship chipset for 2019 smartphones. There is expected to be up to 8GB of RAM, 48-megapixel rear camera, and 16-megapixel selfie camera. It is reported to sport a 6.6-inch Full HD+ notch-less display and powered by a 4,000mAh battery with fast charging.

Some reports suggest that there will be an Oppo Reno Lite smartphone as well. As the name suggests, it will be an affordable phone with toned down specifications. All the models will certainly be sold in China but for the global markets, we will have to wait until the launch to know more details.
