Jio has updated its live TV streaming app JioTV with Picture-in-picture (PiP) mode on the Android platform. The new version will allow users to continue watching their favorite live TV channels even if they are doing some other work on their smartphones or tablets. It has been one of the commonly requested features as it makes use of multi-tasking capabilities.
To make use of JioTV Picture-in-picture mode, users will need a smartphone or tablet running Android 8.0 Oreo or higher. This requirement is because Google added native PiP support with Oreo release. Once you match this criterion, simply launch the updated app and play your preferred live TV channel. Next, tap the home button which will minimize the app but will show the currently playing TV channel in a small rectangular window.
This window can be moved around anywhere on the display. It means depending on what you are doing on your Android device, you can choose to place the JioTV window accordingly. This will allow you to keep watching the content and working at the same time without any interruptions.
The latest JioTV app version is available for download via the Google Play Store. It should be noted that you will have to be a Reliance Jio user to use the live TV streaming app.
