Amazfit Verge fitness smartwatch updated with Alexa support

The Amazfit Verge is an affordable fitness smartwatch capable of helping users keep track of their fitness goals. It boasts features like all-day heart rate monitoring and abnormal heart rate alerts. It is already a worth considering product especially for those tight on budget. And now, Huami has released an Amazfit Verge update that brings Amazon Alexa integration.

It means Amazfit Verge users will now be able to make use of Alexa's intelligence. There is support for voice commands as well which will enable hands-free user experience. Alexa will offer all the commonly used functionalities like checking the weather, reading news, live scores, traffic updates, general queries, reminders, and alerts.

Here are some of the examples mentioned in the official changelog:

Flash Briefing – Set up and add favorite topics to personalize your daily news and content “Flash Briefing”
Sports Update – Set up favorite sports leagues (NBA/NFL) and ask the watch for the latest scores
Calendar – Link with Google, Microsoft, Apple, Exchange calendars. Users can ask Alexa on their Verge smartwatch what’s on their calendar for the day
Alarm – Set a reminder or wake-up alarm
To-do list – Manage your schedule and to-do list
Q&A – With Alexa built-in get answers to common questions throughout the day
Translation – Get translation help in more than 50 languages, including Chinese, English, Spanish, Japanese and more

If you are an Amazfit Verge user, look out for any new software updates and install them. If you have not received any, be patient and wait for the update notification. It should become available anytime soon.
