Garmin has officially launched its Vivosmart 4 fitness tracker in India. The company is targeting fitness enthusiasts with the new wearable which was globally introduced at last year's IFA event in Berlin. It comes loaded with a number of fitness features including Pulse Ox sensor which makes it stand apart from the competition.

As the name suggests, the Pulse Ox sensor is a wrist-based feature aimed at measuring blood oxygen saturation levels at night. It is said to be helpful in detecting the sleep quality of the user. It further has features like Rapid Eye Movement (REM), VO2 Max, and Body Battery aimed at helping in different aspects of fitness.

The Vivosmart 4 also has common fitness trackers like sleep tracking, swimming, calorie consumption, and activities tracking. Once paired with a smartphone, it can also be used for checking notifications and alerts from the apps installed on the phone. It has been released in Black with midnight, Merlot with Rose Gold, Gray with Rose Gold, Blue with Silver, and Black with Midnight color variants. It has been priced at Rs. 12,990 with sales via Garmin Brand Store-Bangalore and Helios Watch Stores across the country.

Ali Rizvi, National Sales Manager for Garmin India said,

“Sleep quality plays a critical role in overall physical health. In fact a poor sleep quality may contribute to the development of significant chronic conditions. With its slim design, the Vivosmart 4 is comfortable to wear at night and pulse ox provides customers with information they can use to improve their health. Garmin's Vivosmart series is a perfect tracker for the fitness enthusiasts who wish to see the exact results of daily activities. As people are getting more conscious about their health, we are confident that Vivosmart 4 will prove to be a perfect partner."

The Pulse Ox sensor. Now this is what I was expecting something to be different from the crowd. Just the regular sleep, step, calorie consumption, etc. tracking features aren't going to be enough.
