BlackBerry ending support for various apps on June 30th

30 April 2019 3

BlackBerry is all set to end software support for many of its apps in the next couple of months. It has updated the official BlackBerry software support lifecycle page to reflect the change and June 30th, 2019 as the date. It means exactly two months from now, these select apps will stop receiving any kind of support.

These listed BlackBerry apps include Productivity Tab, Power Center, Notable, and Device Search. All of them have the same software support end date which is June 30th. These apps are available on BlackBerry Android smartphones but it seems like they are not receiving any significant user engagement.

With the end of software support, none of these apps will receive any new software version update. The team will also stop fixing known issues and releasing security patches. In other words, these apps will remain the same the way they will be on the deadline day.

BlackBerry has already announced that it will be shutting down BBM on May 31st which is next month. It seems like all of BlackBerry apps are gradually coming to their respective ends.
