Instagram getting camera redesign and shopping tags for creators

01 May 2019 3

At the F8 2019 conference, Instagram was announced to receive two new features aimed at creators and influencers. These include a newly designed camera app interface and the ability to add shopping tags. Both these features will be released gradually to all the users around the world.

Starting with the new camera app design, there is a new mode called Create Mode. It is a mode aimed at helping users to create content from scratch with the help of various features. The mode offers quick access to features like interactive stickers and filters and effects. It also eliminates the need of uploading an existing photo and video which is definitely a good boost for creators.

The next feature is about adding shopping tags to posts which can help brands and influencers generate more revenue. It will also help users in buying particular items from a particular post. They will simply need to tap on a tag to buy instead of searching for the product separately on the browser.

Instagram will be rolling out both these features gradually. It will be released for a small set of users in select regions before a wider rollout which can take months.
