Microsoft has released a new update for its Outlook application meant for Android devices. It is a meaningful update for those who are a regular user of the app. Even though all updates are meaningful in one way or another, this particular one makes more sense as it packs a number of new features.
Outlook for Android will now allow users to add their inbox and calendar to the home screen. The widgets for both inbox and calendar have been improved with a new onboarding screen. There are also improvements to the scanning aspect of these widgets.
For those users who use multiple email accounts and tend to use at least one of them quite regularly, the app now supports adding a 1x1 shortcut to the home screen. Tapping on the shortcut will take the user straight to the selected email account for faster and more convenient usage.
Lastly, the Outlook app has been updated with bug fixes and performance improvements. The update rollout has begun and it should become available via Google Play Store. If you have the app installed, you can check for the update by visiting the store.
