Huami, a wearable brand from Xiaomi, ventured into the smartwatch market with the release of Amazfit Verge last year. It received a good response from users around the world and now, it has launched Amazfit Verge 2 as its successor in China. The newer model builds upon the success of the predecessor by adding a few noteworthy new features.
The two biggest additions to the Amazfit Verge 2 include support for eSIM and real-time electrocardiogram (ECG). The first feature is all about allowing users to take full advantage of the smartwatch without having to rely on an active connection with a smartphone. The eSIM feature works with all the Chinese carriers and is capable of handling 4G VoLTE audio calls.
As for the real-time ECG, the feature makes use of Huami's Huangshan No. 1 AI processor powered by a cardiac biometrics engine. It means it can measure heart rate as well as ECG of the user in real-time. The good thing is that the smartwatch is capable of storing up to 60 minutes of ECG data locally for a period of seven days.

There are said to be only 5,000 units of this edition which means you will have to act fast if you wish to get one.
The Amazfit Verge 2 has been priced at RMB 999 (about $145) or the standard variant and RMB 1299 (about $190) for the ECG variant. The limited edition Avengers watch will cost you RMB 1499 (about $215). The standard variant is already up for sale in China but the other two will be made available sometime in July 2019.
