Xiaomi claims 1 million Redmi K20 units sold in one month

Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi K20 lineup of affordable smartphones with the goal of taking on the OnePlus. It seems like the phones the start has been great as Xiaomi has announced selling over 1 million Redmi K20 units within the first month of the launch. The phone is available for purchase in China and this is an impressive feat without any doubt.

The Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro smartphones were unveiled on May 28th which is just a little over a month ago. The Pro variant is currently the world's cheapest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855-powered smartphone. It is a direct competitor to the OnePlus 7 which was also unveiled recently. OnePlus is yet to share sales stats but we can expect a close battle between the two smartphones.

To give you an overview, the Redmi K20 Pro sports a 6.39-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) OLED display. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor coupled with 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The storage variants include 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB internal storage options.

It has a triple rear camera setup comprising of a 48-megapixel sensor, a 13-megapixel sensor, and an 8-megapixel sensor. The selfie camera on the device is a 20-megapixel shooter. There is a 4,000mAh battery to keep the lights on with support for 27W fast charging. On the software front, it runs Android 9 Pie out of the box. Xiaomi is currently working on the Redmi K20 launch for the Indian market which is expected to happen mid-July 2019.
