Xiaomi is currently busy preparing for the Mi CC9 launch which is a new series of smartphones aimed at young buyers. It is also the time when we start hearing about Xiaomi's Android One device, expected to be Mi A3 in 2019. We have heard only a handful of rumors so far but a fresh leak claims that the upcoming Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite could be rebranded Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e for global markets.
The tipster has made the claim on the basis of similarities in model numbers of currently available Mi A2/Mi A2 Lite and upcoming Mi CC9/CC9e. It is worth noting while Xiaomi had previously rebranded Mi 5X and Mi 6X for respective Android One devices, there are no words on the existence of the Mi 7X yet. It means we can see Mi A3 as a rebranded variant of some other lineup.
If that other lineup is actually the Mi CC9, then you will be seeing Mi A3 featuring triple rear cameras and glass design with gradient finish. There is also a possibility of seeing in-display fingerprint scanner as it is one of the common trends. Since Xiaomi bright dual rear cameras to budget with the Mi A1, it will not be surprising if it does something similar again.
The leak further suggests Mi A3 could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor. This is in line with previous reports talking about the use of a Snapdragon 700 series chipset. There could be an emphasize on the camera performance as well since Xiaomi has taken a keen interest in the same since past few launches.
