Huawei is reported to be all set for announcing EMUI 10 on August 9th, the opening day of Huawei Developer Conference (HDC) for the year. It will be the next iteration of Huawei's custom skin EMUI and will be based on Android Q, the next major Android version currently under beta testing by Google.
This interesting bit of information has been revealed by the official HDC 2019 schedule shared by the company. One of the time slots in the schedule is listed as "Linking the future of the world - Huawei EMUI 10.0 released". It is a 20 minutes slot which suggests that Huawei is likely to announce the new version without getting into many details.
It should be noted that Huawei has already released a list of smartphones that are eligible to receive the Android Q update. These include all the current generation flagships from Huawei as well as its sub-brand Honor. There are a few devices from older generations as well but as it happens, it is not a final list and new devices will continue to be added.
Lastly, Huawei is also working on its own operating system called HongMeng OS. It is currently under internal beta testing and is said to be faster than Android and iOS counterparts. We should be hearing about its public release sometime soon as well.
