Xiaomi has confirmed that it will be announcing Black Shark 2 Pro smartphone on July 30th in China. It will be the third smartphone from the gaming-focused Xiaomi sub-brand. The new phone will join the existing ones named Black Shark and Black Shark 2 where the latter one was unveiled earlier this year.
The official teaser image for the event was shared on Weibo. Unfortunately, it does not reveal or hint anything about the smartphone except for the name and release date. It also has timings for the event schedule which are shown in the local time zone.
It was only a couple of days ago Black Shark teased a smartphone featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus. The timing of that teaser and new launch event announcement suggests that the Black Shark 2 Pro is likely to come with the new processor. It also makes sense as the brand deals in gaming smartphones. Qualcomm's newest processor is also all about delivering more power for a better gaming experience.
The Snapdragon 855 Plus is an improved version of the standard Snapdragon 855. It has an overclocked processor and GPU which means more power for handling heavier tasks. Asus has already confirmed that ROG Phone 2 will be the first smartphone to come with the new chipset as it is set to get unveiled next week.
