As we are getting closer to the stable Android Q release, smartphone users have started to wonder where their particular devices will be receiving the upgrade. Many of them have even started to reach out to respective smartphone makers for an official response and in reply to a couple of such queries, Honor has confirmed that it will be upgrading Honor 10 and Honor 8X smartphones to Android Q.
Two different users tweeted to Honor India asking Android Q upgrade situation for Honor 8X and Honor 10. Both users received a positive answer from the company. The official Twitter account replied, "Thank you for showing your interest for Android Q. We would like to inform you that our software team has already evaluated and confirmed the compatibility of Android Q upgrade with Honor 10". It offered the same reply for Honor 8X question except for changing the smartphone name.
Honor India did not mention anything about the release timeline which makes sense for the time being. Huawei has already announced that it will be unveiling EMUI 10 based on Android Q on August 9th in China. It is the event where we can expect to get some information about exactly how and when Huawei plans to release the new version.

It should be noted that both Honor 10 and Honor 8X released last year with Android 8.1 Oreo. They have received an upgrade to Android 9 Pie which means Android Q will be their second major upgrade. Android OEMs are known for providing only two major upgrades and as a result, the upcoming Android version is likely to be the last upgrade for them.
