It is about to be a year since Oppo unveiled ColorOS 6 based on Android 9 Pie but a significant number of Oppo phones are yet to receive the upgrade. In fact, the company is still busy running trial versions for the latest UI when Google is getting closer to announcing Android Q stable version. But nevertheless, Oppo has shared ColorOS 6 trial version release timeline along with the name of eligible devices.
The latest blog post from Oppo mentions that it kicked off trial version (limited beta testing) with Oppo F9 and Oppo F9 Pro last month. It will be releasing ColorOS 6 for Oppo Find X and Oppo F7 this month. It will be expanded to the Oppo R17 Pro, F7 Youth, Oppo K1, R15, and R15 Pro next month. Lastly, it will upgrade Oppo RX17 Pro, RX17 Neo, and R17 in the month of October.
As mentioned in the beginning, ColorOS 6 is based on Android 9 Pie which is the latest Android version until stable Android Q becomes available. Oppo has described the new UI's design as the use of lightweight, elegant gradient colors with an interface that heavily focuses on blank spaces design, cultivating a unique design language in the era of full-screen smartphones.
ColorOS 6.0 comes loaded with newly designed app icons, a new set of wallpapers, and over 3,500 animations that have been remade to improve the user experience. There is Game Boost 2.0 which is meant to help users get the best possible gaming experience with more power and less disturbance.
