OnePlus Zen Mode now available as a standalone app on Play Store for OnePlus phones

02 September 2019 0

OnePlus has made available the Zen Mode app as a standalone offering on Google Play Store for its smartphones. Zen Mode keeps you away from your phone for a few minutes so that you could enjoy other tasks in the real world. It makes the device inactive and unable to use for the set number of times and you could only use some emergency services in addition to the camera app.

The Zen Mode debuted with the OnePlus 7 Pro and later on made available to even the OnePlus 6 and the OnePlus 5 series via OxygenOS update but now this can be downloaded directly from the Play Store.

The Android Q Developer Preview 4 that arrived earlier last month brought enhancement to the Zen Mode available on the OnePlus 6, 6T, 7, and 7 Pro. It allowed the users to increase the default timing up to 60 minutes. Users can choose from 20, 30, 40, and 60 to keep their devices inactive for that period.

The standalone Zen Mode app available on the Play Store also allows you to choose different timings for which your device should be put to rest.

Apart from making the phone unusable, the Zen Mode also mutes the notifications so that you can’t take the headache of what’s going on outside. The motive behind the app is to give relaxation to the users who overuse get distracted easily by their phones.

The size of the Zen Mode app on the Play Store is 11M and it has already garnered 5M+ installs. You can download the app from below. Do note that this new app is only available for a couple of newest series of OnePlus. It's yet to be made compatible for the OnePlus 5 series, though OxygenOS Open Beta 35/33 for the OnePlus 5/5T did bring the Zen Mode.
