It is the time of the year when Google and all other major Android OEMs start preparing for the new Android version release for their respective devices and we start to get official announcements about the same. HMD Global recently revealed their Android 10 update plans and now, Xiaomi has announced Redmi K20 Pro Android 10 beta programme.
The announcement has been made through an official Mi Community forums thread. The post mentions all the details that one needs to know before submitting his or her application. One of the most important things to know is that even though Redmi K20 Pro will receive Android 10 beta, it will be based on currently available MIUI 10. This makes sense as Xiaomi is yet to unveil MIUI 11 officially which will next iteration of their custom Android skin.
If you are interested in becoming a beta tester for this programme, the first step is undoubtedly to have a Redmi K20 Pro. The next step is to be an active Mi Community member with a community ranking of Semi Pro Bunny or higher. You also need to have thorough knowledge about Android as well as MIUI. If selected, you will have to follow all the Mi Community rules including not leaking any ROM-related details outside the group.
It is also worth noting that even though you will get to experience Android 10 on Redmi K20 Pro before the majority of the people, you will also have to tackle issues like performance issues and app crashes. It is a crucial part of beta testing as one of your tasks will be to provide feedback so that these issues can be fixed before the stable release. The last date for submitting one's application is September 8th and selected beta testers will be announced on September 11th.
