OnePlus has started rolling out OnePlus 7 Pro Android Q Developer Preview 5. This latest beta version is based on Android 10 Beta 6 released by Google for Pixel devices last month. It is not confirmed but it is expected to be last beta release for OnePlus 7 series before the stable Android 10 release later this week.
The latest beta adds complete OnePlus full-screen gestures on the OnePlus 7 Pro. It is something you will appreciate if you prefer using gestures for interacting with your devices. It further brings system stability and functions improvements which should result in a more stable performance than previous beta releases.
But since it is a beta build, it is expected to have issues related to performance and user experience. Some of the known ones are mentioned by OnePlus in the official forum thread. These include compatibility problems with some apps, Google Pay compatibility issues, and some kind of system lag. There could also be other issues which have not been discovered yet but if you are a beta tester, you most likely already know this aspect of using a beta build.
Google is rumored to release Android 10 stable for Pixel devices on September 3rd i.e. today but we will have to see if this actually happens. OnePlus is also reported to be one of the first non-Google OEMs to release Android 10 which will be coming to OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. It is even said to happen on the same day as Google which is another thing to look forward to seeing if it happens or not. Nevertheless, we will keep you posted on Android 10 news as and when something new will surface up.
