OnePluse founder and CEO, Pete Lau, is continuing to reveal and tease OnePlus TV features one tweet at a time. He has already teased a wide range of features and in past few days, he has added a few more features to the list. All of these new features are related to OnePlus TV and smartphone integration that will enhance the user experience by making things more convenient.
The first feature is simply the ability to control OnePlus TV directly from the smartphone. It will allow users to get things done without having to use the bundled remote control, especially if it is placed far from where they are sitting. This is something we have seen many TV makers do in the past which means it is not exactly a new thing. But since OnePlus is marketing it as "Redefine How You Control Your TV", we can expect a few new tweaks.
Lau offered a glimpse of what he meant by "fast, smooth, seamless control" with the smartphone in his next tweet. He revealed that OnePlus TV users will be able to use their smartphones for text input. If you have used any smart TV out there, you must be familiar with the hassle of typing using the remote control is. The level of frustration can increase exponentially depending on what you are typing and how long it is, especially if you are entering passwords. The ability to use one's smartphone for text input will undoubtedly be a huge relief. Although, it is unknown whether this functionality will work with all smartphones or only with OnePlus phones.
The most recent tweet from Lau regarding OnePlus TV features is about the ability to seamlessly switch between one's favorite apps. He has shared a GIF showing OnePlus TV companion app with an option to show commonly used apps. With just one touch on the preferred app in the list, you will be able to launch it instantly. This will be helpful when you have a number of installed apps but you use only a few regularly which is the case with the majority of the people.
The OnePlus TV launch is now only a few days away and exactly seven days away to be specific. We can expect Lau to tease a few more features ahead of the complete revelation of their first smart TV. We will be keeping you updated with any information that Lau or OnePlus choose to share next.
