Xiaomi announces MIUI 11, here is the complete release schedule

24 September 2019 0

Xiaomi has officially announced the latest version of its custom skin i.e. MIUI 11. The announcement was made at the same event where got to see the Mi 9 Pro 5G launch. The new MIUI version should be based on Android 10 for most of the recent phones but as we have seen in the past, the exact underlying Android version will depend on the particular device.

The all-new MIUI 11 brings significant visual changes and user experience improvements. Xiaomi has debuted a new custom font called Milan Pro which should be default font style. It is said to be well-optimized for both Chinese and Latin-based characters. The overall design looks clean and minimalistic as the team has focused on reducing the clutter. The redesign has already won a Red Dot design award which is claimed to be a first for a software company.

It comes with dynamic font scaling that will automatically adjust the font thickness depending on the content on display for optimal legibility. There are new sound effects inspired by nature like animal noises, rain, and water. It also has system-wide dark mode support which Google has added to Android 10 as well. There are various new Always On Display animations and designs/patterns for compatible devices.

Xiaomi has announced two new suites named Mi Go and Mi Work along with MIUI 11. Mi Go is a travel suite that will take care of all travel-related needs including finding and booking transportation (flights, buses, and cabs) and hotels. It also includes a currency converter for those traveling abroad. As for Mi Work, it is a productivity suite with the inclusion of WPS office apps, better file management, and cross-platform file-sharing protocol.
