As expected, OnePlus has officially released the OnePlus 7T smartphone at an event held in India. It is an incremental upgrade over the OnePlus 7 released earlier this year. It is part of OnePlus' release strategy where it announces "T" smartphones in the second half of the year.
The OnePlus 7T comes with a 90Hz display which is an improvement as previously, only the OnePlus 7 Pro was released with such a high refresh rate display panel. It further features Blue light protection claimed to offer a 40% reduction. There is also a new Chromatic Reading mode that will help users read content in a better way and without getting their eyes strained. Other than this, it is a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED display with 2400 x 1800 pixels and HDR10+ support.
The OnePlus 7T features a circular rear camera module that houses a total of three cameras. These include a 48-megapixel primary camera, a 16-megapixel wide-angle camera with 117-degree field of view, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. There is also support for ultra-wide Nightscape so that you can click ultra-wide shots even during the night time or in low-light conditions. It features "super stabilization" for video recording.
Under the hood, the OnePlus 7T comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor which brings an improved chipset and GPU as compared to the Snapdragon 855. It also offers 8GB of RAM along with 128GB and 256GB USF 3.0 storage but exact storage capacities have not been revealed yet. And as revealed by OnePlus before, it will be the first smartphone in India to come pre-loaded with Android 10. There is a 3,800mAh battery which is supported by the all-new 30T Warp Charge fast charging. It is claimed to charge OnePlus 7T up to 70% within 30 minutes.
All of the OnePlus 7T users will be getting 55GB of free cloud storage for the first year. OnePlus is yet to reveal cloud storage plans after the free offer. At the same event, OnePlus confirmed that the team is also working on OnePlus Pay mobile payment service that will be released next year.
The OnePlus 7T has been priced at Rs. 37,999 for the 8GB/128GB and Rs. 39,999 for the 8GB/256GB models. These will be sold from September 28th via Amazon India, OnePlus online store, and offline stores. There are two color variants called Frosted Silver and Glacier Blue.
