Amazon Alexa has been updated with the multi-lingual mode in India. It is the mode that will allow users to interact with Alexa in multiple languages at the same time. It currently supported English, Hindi, and Hinglish (Hindi + English) languages after the latter two were added to Alexa last month.
Once the mode is enabled, Alexa will also respond in the same language which was used to ask the question. This mode essentially brings seamless switching between languages and that too on the go. It means a user will not have change language settings every time they want to use a different language. This is the best benefit of this new mode.
Alexa's multi-lingual mode can be turned on by visiting Alexa app settings. Tap on language option and choose "English/ हिन्दी" option to get it working. The option might also appear as "हिन्दी/English" to you but either way, it will work exactly the same. But if you are not seeing any of the two, you should check there is no Alexa app update pending. If you find an update, install the same to get the latest version.
Alternatively, one can say, "Alexa, how can I set up multi-lingual mode?" and Alexa will guide you through the whole set-up process. This is a helpful mode if you tend to use both languages and interchange between them quite frequently. It should be noted that all Alexa skills will work according to the language that you are using to interact with Alexa.
