Xiaomi Mi TV 5 will have 4K QLED display | UPD: real life images

UPDATE (November 1st, 2019):

A couple of alleged real-life Xiaomi Mi TV 5 images have made their way to the internet. None of the images show the TV clearly but only a glimpse of what it could be. The first image shows the TV from a side angle giving an idea of how slim it exactly is and as it turns out, the TV is indeed very slim. It also has "Designed by Xiaomi" branding at the upper part of the side frame which is a first for a Mi TV.

The second image is of Mi TV stands which look like any other standard LED or smart TV stand. There is nothing new or special to talk about here. We will have to wait to see if they are made out of metal or plastic.

Xiaomi is set to unveil a bunch of hardware products at next week's event and in its build-up, it is busy revealing key specifications of these upcoming devices. It has already confirmed a lot of important things about the Mi Watch and now, it has revealed key specifications of the Mi TV 5.

The Mi TV 5 will be the first Xiaomi smart TV to feature a QLED display panel. It is not surprising to see Xiaomi entering the premium segment as its rival OnePlus has already released a premium QLED smart TV named OnePlus TV. It has not confirmed the display size yet but it is confirmed to offer 4K display resolution with 108% NTSC wide color gamut and HDR10+ support.

Under the hood, it will have the T972 processor which is built on the 12nm manufacturing process. It is claimed to offer a 63% faster performance than processors from the previous generation and also supports 8K video playback. The chipset will be paired with 4GB of RAM for better multitasking. It will have 64GB of onboard storage to help users install their favorite apps and games.

The Mi TV 5 design is a mystery for now but Xiaomi has teased it to be one of the slimmest Mi TVs yet. A teaser image even showed the text "Designed by Xiaomi" on the side. This is pretty much what we now know about the Mi TV 5 which is less than a week away from becoming public. If Xiaomi shares any further details or teasers, we will keep you updated.
