UPDATE (November 12th, 2019):
Oppo has confirmed that ColorOS 7 will be released in India on November 26th. The release event will be held in New Delhi, India and six days after the release of Chinese ROM in China. Both these ROMs are likely to be similar to one another except for some tweaks related to India and China respectively.
Original (November 5th, 2019)
ColorOS is the name of Oppo's custom Android skin meant for its own smartphones as well as phones released by sister company Realme. It is all set to receive a new and improved version as Oppo has announced ColorOS 7 release for November 20th. The release will be for the Chinese version and the global version should arrive sometime later.
The official teaser image does not reveal much about what to expect from ColorOS 7 but we can make a few speculations. It is likely to bring performance improvements and since the image shows a hand-held gaming console, Oppo is likely to offer features related to gaming performance and experience. This is not surprising as all major smartphone makers have now started to focus on mobile gamers.
ColorOS 7 is expected to based on Android 10 which is the latest Android version released by Google. Oppo has confirmed that it will come to the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom smartphone. It could be the first smartphone to receive the new version which will then be expanded to other eligible Oppo phones. Oppo should announce the complete list of eligible devices on the release day itself.
It is worth noting that Realme CEO Madhav Sheth has already confirmed that Realme phones will receive an exclusive ColorOS 7 variant. This special version will have an appearance and feel closer to stock Android. This is what Realme users have been asking for some time and was the reason Realme was reported to be working on RealmeOS. While we do not know whether Realme OS is still under works, it is confirmed that it will not become available before 2020.
