Vivo has officially confirmed that its next 5G smartphone will be Vivo X30. It made the announcement at an event held in collaboration with Samsung in China. The latter was part of the event because Vivo will make use of Exynos 980 5G processor in the upcoming smartphone. All of this is exactly what we mentioned in a report last month.
The Vivo X30 will be the first smartphone in the world to come with Exynos 980 chipset which happens to be one of its kind 5G chipset among all other options available out there. It is the world's only mass-produced dual-band 5G processor which means it supports SA as well as NSA 5G connectivity. This will allow Vivo X30 to be 5G compatible in every 5G market regardless of what 5G band they operate on.
Exynos 980 was announced by Samsung about two months ago as its first chip with an integrated 5G modem. It is a mid-range processor based on the 8nm FinFET manufacturing process. It has two high-performance Cortex-A77 cores and four power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores with Mali-G76 GPU. It also features a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU) for handling powerful AI tasks, even when it comes to local data processing.
As per rumors, the Vivo X30 is said to sport a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It is expected to arrive in two configuration options: 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. There is reported to be a quad rear camera setup including a 64-megapixel sensor, a 13-megapixel sensor, an 8-megapixel sensor, and a 2-megapixel sensor. The front camera could be a 32-megapixel sensor and battery capacity is rumored to be 4,500mAh with fast charging support.
