Realme X2 Pro, Realme 5s with 64MP and 48MP quad cameras launched in India

As expected, Realme has launched two new smartphones named Realme X2 Pro and Realme 5s in India. Both of these are quad-camera smartphones and were announced at an event earlier today. The first one is Realme's first true Android flagship that made its debut in China last month. As for the second one, it is an enhanced version of Realme 5 with the improved camera performance.

Realme X2 Pro

The Realme X2 Pro is a flagship smartphone with high-end specifications and features. It sports a 6.5-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1800 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It offers a 20:9 aspect ratio, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, DC dimming 2.0, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It has a waterdrop-styled notch that helps it achieve a 91.7% screen-to-body ratio.

Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor coupled with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage. This results in two configuration options: 8GB RAM with 128GB UFS 3.0 storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. The last one is also available in special edition what Realme is referring to as Realme X2 Pro Master Edition. It has been designed by a renowned Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa and is available in Red Brick and Concrete color options.

Realme X2 Pro Master Edition

The rear camera setup on the Realme X2 Pro features a 64-megapixel Samsung GW1 sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 13-megapixel telephoto sensor with f/2.5 aperture(5x hybrid optical zoom and 20x hybrid zoom), an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture (115-degree Field of View), and a 2-megapixel portrait sensor with f/2.4 aperture and Super nightscape mode. It has a 16-megapixel front camera with Super nightscape mode as well.

The whole package is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with support for 50W SuperVOOC Flash Charge. It will run ColorOS 6.1 (customized by Realme) based on Android 9 Pie out of the box. Other noteworthy features include USB Type-C port, Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, in-display fingerprint scanner, dual stereo speakers, and vapour cooling.

  • 12GB/256GB for Rs. 33,999
  • 12GB/256GB for Rs. 34,999 (Master Edition)

The first two Realme X2 Pro models will go on sale starting November 26th via Flipkart. There are Neptune Blue and Lunar White color options to choose from. It will be Realme's first-ever invite-only sale which means you will need to have an invite to be able to participate and buy the phone. As for the Master Edition, it will go on sale during Christmas 2019.

Realme 5s

The Realme 5s features a 6.5-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) LCD display with a small waterdrop notch and Corning Gorilla Glass 3+ protection. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. There are 64GB and 128GB storage options with microSD card support for storage expansion.

The quad-camera setup includes a 48-megapixel sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f/2.25 aperture, a 2-megapixel portrait sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The front camera on the phone is a 13-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. It has a huge 5,000mAh battery to keep the lights on and also offers 10W fast charging. It will be shipping with ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9 Pie. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the back panel.

  • 4GB/128GB for Rs. 10,999

The Realme 5s will go on sale starting November 29th via Flipkart as well as Realme's own online store. It has been released in Crystal Red, Crystal Blue, and Crystal Purple color variants.
