Huawei has become the newest consumer electronics brand to release a smart speaker as it has unveiled Huawei Sound X in China. It was launched at the same event where we got to see MatePad Pro tablet and MateBook D series notebooks. The new smart speaker is focused on offering a premium sound output. This is the reason it has been developed in collaboration with Devialet, a French audio company.
The Huawei Sound X has a cylindrical design which is a common approach among smart speakers. It helps the device in offering a 360-degree immersive surround sound output. It is claimed to be the first smart speaker to come with Hi-Res audio certification which is something audiophiles will surely love. It boasts 60W dual subwoofers powered by SAM bass enhancement technology.
It makes use of Devialet's Push-Push acoustic design claimed to offer undistorted sound output even at the maximum 93 decibels mark. Other noteworthy specs include a quad-core processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. It is said to offer 8GB of onboard storage which can be used for local music storage. It also comes with Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity options.
Huawei has priced the Sound X smart speaker a CNY 1,999 for the standard variant. If you are interested in the Stereo Set variant, you will have to shell out CNY 3,888. It can be preordered in China starting today and will go on sale from December 5th.
