The video-on-demand streaming service market is a bit crowded but this doesn’t stop the new entrant Disney Plus from thriving and taking strides. The reported stats of the engagement of the streaming service come as proof to convey how effortlessly the service has managed to take the position in the market in such a short span.

According to a report from the research firm Apptopia, the Disney+ app has managed to make 22M downloads on the devices. The firm claims that user engagement with the service is pretty high, with an estimated 9.5 million users enjoying the app daily. These are indeed some remarkable figures, considering the service is barely four weeks old.

The amount of traction the service gained on the very first day of its launch, however, was enough to apprehend its overall demand in the market. While Disney has not bragged about the latest figures, it did issue a press on the day of launch boasting of the "extraordinary demand with more than 10 million sign-ups."

Well, the credit for the lightning success of the Disney Plus streaming service goes to the library full of familiar content that people love to watch. The service distributes the films and TV series produced by The Wall Disney Studios and Walt Disney Television, with the service advertising content from Disney’s Marvel, National Geographic Pixar, and Star Wars. The service debuted in November in the US, Canada, and the Netherlands and expanded to Australia, New Zealand, and Puerto Rico a week later. There are plans for further expansion in March 2020, followed by the multiplication to happen in 2021.

Note that the Apptopia’s researched numbers only include the number of installs on the mobile device and does not include web views or downloads to set-top boxes like Apple TV. So, the exact installation mark could be much more than the report 22M. Just imagine the growth!

Separately, Disney+ topped as Google’s most searched word this year in the United States, according to Reuters.
