UPDATE (January 2nd, 2020):
Xiaomi has decided to delay the Mi MIX Alpha concept phone launch for unknown reasons. It is an indefinite delay which means we have no idea when we will get to see the futuristic phone on store shelves. The report is coming from Abacus, an online publication, that mentions that Mi MIX Alpha was expected to launch this month. There is no information about a possible new release date but we will keep you updated.

If you might remember, Xiaomi showcased a concept phone named Mi MIX Alpha about three months ago. It is a phone that boasts glass everywhere except for a single metallic strip meant for housing cameras. It is said to offer an insane 180.6% screen-to-body ratio but as it is usually the case with conceptual devices, they usually do not come with a specific release date. The same is true for this Xiaomi concept phone but if a new teaser is anything to go by, we might be closer to an official launch than we think.
Xiaomi has shared a new Mi MIX Alpha teaser image via its official Weibo account in China. The image shows a snowy area on the left side and lush green forest on the right along with a road between the two sides. All of this has been depicted in a way that the two sides resemble the display panel of the smartphone and road represents the metallic strip.
To give you an overview, the Mi MIX Alpha sports a 7.92-inch Quad HD+ (2088 x 2250 pixels) Flexible Super AMOLED display that completely wraps around. Under the hood, it features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor paired with 12GB of RAM. It has a single 512GB UFS 3.0 storage variant with no microSD card slot.
It has a triple camera setup with a 108-megapixel main camera with f/1.7 aperture, a 20-megapixel ultrawide sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone makes use of the same camera setup for the rear as well as selfie camera purposes. The whole package is powered by a 4,050mAh battery with 40W fast charging support. Other features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port, and 5G network support.
