Original (December 31st, 2019)
Realme debuted the Realme 5 series of smartphones about four months ago with a focus on the budget segment. It added a new member to the family in the form of Realme 5s last month and now, it is preparing for the launch of the fourth member. This new phone is named Realme 5i and will be released in Vietnam on January 6th.
The official launch poster for the event only mentions the phone's name and launch date. It does not offer any details about the physical appearance, specifications or even features. But thanks to an early listing from a Vietnamese eCommerce platform FPTShop, we have an idea of what to expect from the Realme 5i.
The listing confirms that the Realme 5i is essentially a rebranded version of the Realme 5. Both the phones feature similar design except for the lack of the diamond-cut finish on the back panel in the newer version. In terms of specifications, the only major difference is that the Realme 5i has an 8-megapixel selfie camera as compared to Realme 5's 13-megapixel sensor. The listing further confirms that the phone will be released in Blue and Green color variants.
