In the past few months, Realme has not missed any opportunity to emphasize that it wants to expand beyond just being a smartphone brand. It wants to become a tech lifestyle brand by venturing into various other product categories. It has already confirmed working on a fitness band and now, the Realme TV launch has been confirmed as well.
Xu Qi, CMO of Realme, made the announcement at an event held in China. He revealed that Realme TV will be launched sometime in late 2020. It was previously rumored to get official sometime during late 2019 but as things have been made official, the launch is now delayed until this year. All other details about the smart television have not been shared yet which we can expect to become public in the coming months.
While we will have to wait for official words, Realme TV is expected to be similar to what Xiaomi is offering with its Mi TV range of smart televisions. The speculation is based on the fact that Realme has opted for the strategy of following Xiaomi's products and release cycles. It has released similar smartphones but with a better value of money and if it does the same with the TV, we are likely to see noteworthy products.
Realme's main markets have been Indian and its own homeland China. It will be interesting to see which country will receive it first. Its most recent launch has been the Realme X50 5G which is the first 5G smartphone from the brand. It has currently been released only in China but should arrive in India soon enough.
