Moto G Turbo Edition is receiving Android Marshmallow update in India

Motorola’s Moto G Turbo Edition has received Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in India. It’s fellow members Moto X Play and Moto G (Gen 3) have already the same update earlier this month. Several users of the country have said that they have received the notifications for the update. Recently, Motorola also rolled out a discount of Rs.2,000 on Turbo Edition on Flipkart.

Motorola launched Moto G Turbo Edition powered by Snapdragon 615 processor in India. The smartphone came pre-installed with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS. The OTA update v24.11.22 for smartphone Moto g Turbo Edition weighs 445.5MB and also features the Android December security update. Users can however manually check for the update via Settings>About Phone> System update.

Those who’re unknown should know the core features of Android 6.0 Marshmallow update include revamped app permissions; Google Now on Tap feature; a new Chrome feature that will change the Web experience for Android users; new ways to handle web links, Android Pay mobile payment system, new fingerprint APIs for developers to add into their apps. Also, some exciting features like battery saver feature Doze, ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode to block all sounds or only alarms and notifications.

These were some of the main features Google added to their Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Apart from these, Motorola will also be pushing some Moto-specific changes that users will see after updating to the new Android OS version. These changes include removal of Moto Assist feature as part of an upgrade to Android Marshmallow. Motorola also mentioned that the latest OS includes an option for ‘Do Not Disturb’ under the ‘Sound and notification’ settings that perform similar function what Moto Assist does.

Motorola Moto G Turbo edition is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 processor and coupled with 2GB RAM. It has a 16GB internal memory that can be expanded further using a microSD card. It flaunts with 5-inch IPS LCD display with 720x080 pixels resolution. It comes with a 13MP rear camera with dual LED flash and 5MP front-facing camera. It has 2470mAH battery that can last long. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi Hotspot, A-GPS, Bluetooth, USB.
