2016 models of Samsung Galaxy J7 and J5 pass Bluetooth SIG certification

05 February 2016 0

We had yesterday reported about the India launch of Samsung’s 2016 editions of the Galaxy A5 and the Galaxy A7. And now there are new developments about Samsung’s other two models – the Galaxy J7 (2016) and Galaxy J5 (2016). Both these handsets have taken a step close to the market as they both have passed the Bluetooth SIG certification.

Both ancestors of these two smartphones were releases in June last year. However, we might just see an early launch of the 2016 models.

As per the leaked results from the benchmarks, Galaxy J7 (2016) will come with a couple of versions. One of them will have Exynos 7870 chipset, while the other will come with Snapdragon 615. These two variants will also have difference in the screen resolution on its 5.5-inch screen as well as on RAM. The former will have 720p screen with 2GB RAM. The latter will have a better 3GB RAM and also better display at 1080p.

As far as the Galaxy J5 (2016) chip is concerned, it is understood, via a leak benchmark, that it will be Snapdragon 410 with 1.2GHz quad-core CPU with Cortex-A53. What we know apart from this is that there will be 12MP (or possibly 13MP) rear camera having LED flash and the front camera will be 5MP. RAM will be 2GB with 16GB of native storage.

As far as the availability and pricing is concerned, it still has to be announced formally. No doubt, the upcoming Mobile World Congress is the best timing for Samsung to make all things official. And it is very unlikely that Samsung will risk the chance of drawing the attention away from its Galaxy S7 series. That’s why the devices may also come at distinct times.

Now, this is all conjecture. But, as soon as we get anything latest on this, we will let you know.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
